Description: I designed the ARF Bead Head Swimming Baetis to imitate the very active baetis (blue wing olive) nymph, it is designed to be fished deeper, or in faster water than the unweighted Swimming Baetis. Motion is provided by the marabou tail and the wing case is black flash to imitate a nearly mature bug. The "magic" of peacock tops it all off. The Swimming Baetis is also an excellent attractor nymph.
What it imitates: Baetis (BWO) nymph
When to fish it: Early spring and again in the fall, during or before a hatch or as a searching pattern anytime there have been baetis hatches.
Where to fish it: Freestone streams, spring creeks and tailwaters
How to fish it: Dead drifted, slowly stripped with intermittent pauses, lifted during a drift or on a downstream swing
Approximate time to complete this order: 2 weeks
