Description: The parachute hackle on this fly allows the thorax to float in the surface film while the abdomen on the curved shank hook rides just below the surface. The trailing shuck is indicative of either an emerging insect, or an insect having difficulty escaping it's nymphal case. In either case, a very vulnerable time. There is a hint of hi-vis color in the wing to aid the fisherman in seeing this low floating fly.
What it imitates: Callibaetis Mayfly
When to fish it: During a hatch or as a searching pattern anytime adult callibaetis mayflies have been on the water
Where to fish it: Lakes, some slow moving tailwaters or spring creeks
How to fish it: Most effective when dead drifted although a slight twitch can be productive
