Greg Becker - Tier

Greg Becker

Greg Becker, owner and founder of White Water Flies, is a self proclaimed fly fishing addict and self-taught tier since the age of 17. He is a fastidious commercial tier of highly sought after and productive saltwater flies. He spends many hours per week at the vise creating flies that will mimic the natural, entice fish and withstand repeated strikes; even from bluefish.

Greg resides in Northwest NJ, which affords him access to many different kinds of water, from the Delaware to the Salt. Although he does most of his fishing at the Big Flatbrook, where he learned to fly fish with his father, a trip to Alaska, for pinks, provided the exposure to the Salt that created an insatiable interest in saltwater fly fishing which is reflected in the flies he designs. Greg fishes the Salt in and around Chatham Mass.

Greg started WhitewaterFlies.com, a Customer Service oriented “Online Fly Shop”, 10 years ago, and today it is his full time job. Whitewater Flies sells top-of- the-line fly tying tools and materials; specializing in Color Variant Capes and Saddles along with new products from Whiting Farms

.

Greg attends most large shows in the NE and Mid Atlantic, including the Fly Fishing Shows, and International Fly Tying Symposium, so make sure you check his schedule here on MyFlies or on his website - Whitewaterflies.com so you can stop by and say hello and check out what’s new! As a member of the Nymph Head Pro Team, and the Rite Bobbin Prostaff, Greg loves to talk about fly tying, the newest materials out and of course fly fishing - which is something that his customers have come to expect and appreciate from him.

Greg offers fly tying classes through Whitewater Flies, and enjoys interacting with beginners as well as the veterans of the sport.  Feel free to e-mail Greg at: greg@whitewaterflies.com
