Description: Depending on where you live, and the phase of the moon, the Cinder Worm hatch happens from mid to late May and goes through August. These mud-worms migrate out of the flats and shorelines and you can literally see thousands of little "red strings" swimming in the water. When the hatch happens, it becomes a feeding frenzy for striped bass and other game fish. If you have never witnessed it, you really should, it's an unbelievable fishing experience. It's best to be prepared, so make sure you've got some Cinder Worms in your fly box.
