Description

Description:  The Claret Wulff is a high floating Wulff pattern which is basically a "searching" pattern.  This particular Wulff can be used all summer long during the Slate Drake (Isonychia Bicolor) hatch in the East or during the Mahogany Dun emergence in the Midwest and out West.  The Claret Wulff is a very visible and buoyant fly which makes for an excellent searching pattern on fast water and in medium current riffles where trout lay waiting and ready to ambush anything that happens to float by. This fly consistantly produces whenever I fish it.

What it imitates:  Basically, it's a searching pattern.

When to fish it:  June thru Sept; afternoon into evenings in the East. Late summer to early fall (and spring) in the West. Late June to early August in the Midwest.

Where to fish it:  Freestone rivers and Tailwaters that have good Slate Drake or Mahogany Dun hatches.

How to fish it:  Dead drifted, long leader, light tippet.

Approximate turnaround time to complete this order:  2 weeks

MINIMUM ORDER FOR THIS FLY IS 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 1/2 DOZEN FLIES
