Description: Crazy Claws is a great "search" pattern, especially when the crawfish are on the move. The large profile of the fly attracts large fish. When stripped, the fly shakes it's claws back and forth, driving until it bounces off the bottom. This realistic motion drives fish crazy, many time enticing strikes at depths of 10-15 feet. This fly a killer on both Small and Large mouth bass.
What it imitates: Crayfish
When to fish it: March-October. It is most productive in the spring, but will work anytime an aggressive presentation is called for.
Where to fish it: Lakes, Rivers, or Sloughs
How to fish it: Use a pulsating retrieve and allow the fly to bounce and then stall off of cover. For deeper water, try using a sinking tip. It can be slowly or rapidly stripped in or just allowed to drift with the current.
