Description: DT is a small mayfly nymph imitation that was devised for tailwater mayflies, but has found dual duty as a solid producer on freestone rivers and streams. Use this pattern for smaller mayfly or even midge imitations.
What it imitates: Smaller mayfly nymphs (including sulphurs), blue winged olives, tricos etc.
When to fish it: Anytime
Where to fish it: Prior to or during any hatch of the listed flies
How to fish it: The DT can be fished under an indicator in a multi-fly rig, in any one of the European style nymph rigs as a dropper. It also works great as a dropper off of a dry fly when the fish are keying in on emergers.
