Description

Description:  No, it's not named after Eric Clapton!  This fly was designed by Sierra angler, Ralph Cutter, and stands for Emerging Cripple and boy does it do a number on the wild Upper Delaware River rainbows!  All of the 'bows on the Big D. are wild and were planted here in the 1880's from the McCloud River out in California.  This fly also designed and proved itself a winner on the Truckee River near Lake Tahoe.  Antron for the shuck, body is two colored - has a brownish hare's mask to represent casing, thorax in green, wing is deer or elk hair and hackle is wound parachute style so that this bug sits flush in the film.  A deadly fly when the caddis are hatching.

What it imitates: Caddis

When to fish it:   Northeast: April through June and September through October

Where to fish it:  Rivers and streams

How to fish it:  Single and also as a tandem rig.  Skitter this fly through pockets and riffs and can also be fished in slower pools with an indicator fly.

Minimum order is 6 flies for this pattern

Order Completion Time is approximately 14 days
