Description: Al Brunell, my mentor and friend, created the Glimmer Bug to be used on the Rogue River. It has been an extremely effective fly for years on Rogue River steelhead. It has been reported that it works well on the other Oregon rivers such as the Deschutes. As Al's apprentice, I want to carry on Al's tradition of Rogue River flies and will be placing a number of his patterns on the site.
What it imitates: Caddis
When to fish it: Anytime
Where to fish it: Rogue River and other rivers where steelhead take caddis.
How to fish it: Fished as a nymph with a strike indicator, large dry fly, or by itself. If the river is a fast moving river, addtional weight can be added to the brass bead. Specify if you want weighted flies when ordering.
