The Grocery List is an adaptation of Lefty's Deceiver and starts with a 3/0 Big Gun hook, and includes 10 big saddle hackles, 6 colors of bucktail, and 2 different kinds of flash. It's finished with 3/8-inch Mirage Dome eyes coated with Tuffleye for durability.
You're not going to throw this big baitfish with your four-weight, but if you're looking for cow stripers or bull reds, or any other game fish that eats hand size baitfish, you want to make sure and give this fly a shot.
What it imitates: Mature menhaden, bunkers, pogies
When to fish it: Any time fish are feeding on big baitfish
Where to fish it: Anywhere big fish are schooling
How to fish it: Throw it into schooling stripers or redfish and strip it hard and fast.
