Description: Depending on the waters you fish, the Hendrickson nymph can be a staple in a trout's diet. They are particularly prevalent in the mid-west and east. Sometimes fish will "key in" on females rather than males and vise versa. For that reason, 3 nymphs are being offered: Female nymph (light in color), Male nymph (dark in color) and a Nymph (natural color) still still in nymph form.
To make sure you are prepared, the 3 nymphs are also being offered in individual 1/2 dozens and in a set:
INDIVIDUAL 1/2 dozens: Choose from Female, Male or Nymph
SET INCLUDES: 2 each (Female, Male, Nymph) total of 6 flies.
Each fly is tied with fish attracting lemon wood duck tail fibers, natural body color and black dot in the lower abdomen as seen in the "natural" insect makes this fly very attractive to trout. The copper ribbing adds strength and segmentation and the collar of iridescent green pheasant neck hackle on the natural colored nymph adds just the right amount of movement.
What it imitates: Hendrickson nymph,
When to fish it: It can be fished all year round and as spring nears and steams swell with snow melt and rain weighting the fly may be helpful. This is also a great searching pattern.
Where to fish it: Any waters that support a mayfly population, especially Hendricksons
How to fish it: A floating line and wet-fly-sing is a very productive method. Quarter your cast downstream, throw in an upstream mend to slow the fly, and let it swing. When the fly is straight below you, let it hang for a few seconds. Then cast again with about three more feet of line. Keep doing this until you're at the limit of your casting, then walk downstream 30 feet and do it all again. Upstream to rising fish or trailed behind an adult Hendrickson.
Approximate time to complete this order: 7 days
MINIMUM ORDER FOR THIS FLY IS 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 1/2 DOZEN FLIES
