Description: The Electric Caddis' translucent effect underwater (like that of the natural) is in part, what makes this fly so productive. I incorporate Ultrawire, in different colors, inserted inside of hollow tubing (stretch tubing) wrapped over an underbody of tying thread. The Electric Caddis is a must in any serious angler's fly box, especially during the fall and winter months.
In order to imitate the natural driftiing movement of the larva, John offers 3 different Electric Caddis versions; the short version represents when they curl up; the long version is when they stretch out; the beadhead offers a little more flash.
What it imitates: Any "free living" caddis larva (a caddis that does not build a shelter to live in).
When to fish it: All day, escpecially during the fall and winter months
Where to fish it: Freestone streams, Limestone streams, Tailwaters or anywhere these insects are found. Basically, any waters in the U.S. and Canada that have a "free living" caddis population.
How to fish it: Deep and in tandem with other nymphs
Approximate turnaround to complete this order: 2 weeks
MINIMUM ORDER FOR THIS FLY IS 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 1/2 DOZEN FLIES
