Description: I developed the Electric Steelie Stone versions in the fall of 2009 for the Salmon River in NY and it was met with EXCELLENT results. I am confident that this fly will perform equally well in any river system with a salmon and steelhead run.
In the Electric Steelie Stone - Beadhead version, I incorporate the translucent properties of the wire through clear, hollow stretch tubing wrapped over an underbody of tying thread or tinsel. It is the same technique I have incorporated with my all my Steelhead Stonefly nymphs. With the almost endless color combinations that make up many of today's Steelhead flies, this technique is a natural. I use a non-tarnishing RealFly Color™ Bead for extra weight and attractiveness. When tied in "Hot Colors", these stonefly nymphs "glow" under water.
"Hot Colors" - Black, Blue, Chartruse, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White
Custom color combo's are welcomed, and can be specified at the time of ordering. Please specify wire color, under-body color and thorax color in the "Notes" section when ordering. Colored translucent tubing can also be incorporated into this pattern.
