Description: The Magog Smelt has long been one of he favorite streamers of anglers who fish the waters of the Greater Northeast for brook trout and landlocked salmon. The name is taken from Lake Memphremagog, which is partly in Vermont and partly in Canada.
What it imitates: Small fresh-water smelt.
When to fish it: Whenever
Where to fish it: Mostly in northeastern lakes and rivers that have smelt populations, but why not try it elsewhere????
How to fish it: Casting and retrieving, or trolliing with subtle movements imparted
