Description: This is a special fly for me. The Tan Sparkle Caddis would have taken first place in a "one fly competition" on the Green River in Utah this past summer, if the fly had not been lost on the last round to a very large trout.
Theodore Gordon once said, "to tie good flies takes time and patience". This fly is one of my most requested flies from my repeat customers; I think this is a "good fly". I know it's a fly I'm very proud of and I feel that all my time designing and redesigning at the vise and hours on the water "testing" have paid off. If you fish Caddis hatches and want to try something "out of the box" different, now's your chance.
What it imitates: Any tan adult or emerging caddis
When to fish it: When caddis are hatching or as a searching pattern
Where to fish it: Any waters that have a Tan Caddis hatch
How to fish it: Up, across or down stream, dead drifting with an occasional twitch. It works well holding the rod tip high and skating the fly over the meniscus.
Approximate time to complete this order: 14 days
MINIMUM ORDER FOR THIS FLY IS 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 1/2 DOZEN FLIES
