Description: Another fly designed to look a little like a lot, but a lot like anything... The Thin Mint is a fly that just looks buggy without looking specifically like anything; basically I like to think of it as a natural colored 'attractor' fly With normal water clarity, I fish the 8 and 10 for salmon and the 10 and 12 for steelhead.
What it imitates: Bugs...it just looks "buggy"
When to fish it: Fall salmon and spring steelhead runs
Where to fish it: Generally, fished falling through the water column at a dead drift then allow it to swing out at the end of the drift.
How to fish it: Fish it at a dead drift but, at the end of the drift, allow the fly to swing out, many times the strike will come on the swing. I like to use this fly as the back fly, in a two fly rig, because of the extra movement as it swings out and completes the drift.
Approximate time to complete this order: Generally, one week
MINIMUM ORDER FOR THIS FLY IS 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 1/2 DOZEN FLIES
