Description  more details

This new release is destined to become the step-by-step reference to tying and fishing every nymph you'll ever need. Filled with good advice from a trusted master of the subject, it is the most thorough and enjoyable book about selecting, tying, and fishing nymphs that has ever been written.

Nymphs for Streams and Stillwaters is broken logically into four parts. Part 1 is an introduction to the way nymph fishing, and therefore nymph tying, shapes itself, with chapters on streamside and lakeside observation, nymph pattern selection based on what you've observed, and tools and materials for both basic and advanced methods used in tying nymphs that take trout. Part 2 deals with the selection and detailed tying of effective searching nymphs for fishing in moving water: creeks, streams, and rivers, plus spring creeks and tailwaters. Part 3 examines in thorough detail imitative nymphs for moving waters, tightly relating naturals to their imitations and the methods used to tie and fish them. Part 4 covers selecting, tying, and fishing a set of stillwater nymphs. Trout are more often selective in lakes and ponds, and the things they eat in stillwaters often vary from those found in rivers and streams. You need a different set of imitations to fish lakes and ponds effectively.

These are first edition, first printings of this new book. If it follows the sales course of Trout Flies, Western Hatches, and Wet Flies, these firsts will be gone quite quickly. This is a rare chance to get a first, with a fly tied by Dave tipped in.

Please let Dave know if you would like it personalized, and the correct spelling of the name to whom it should be inscribed. If no instructions are given, the book will be autographed but not personalized.
