Description: Czech nymphing is growing in popularity here in the U.S. and because it is such a productive style of fishing, almost every fly shop you walk into, now has an arsenal these colorful and wild looking nymphs.
With that, I decided to study the Polish and Czech style of tying. When I began fishing my “new” flies, the one thing I noticed was that trout that were very “selective”, heavily fished over or easily spooked, wanted nothing to do with these flies. After many trials and lots of errors under my wading belt, I finally came up with a winning combination that was more life-like and stream-lined, still had attitude, but in a subtle way and caught the attention of picky trout . I’ve brought to hand many very selective browns, rainbows, cutthroats and brookies on this larva. Added bonus, it is amazing how well this fly works in steelhead waters.
