Description: The Red Bug imitates any number of critters you see scurrying across the bottom which is what I like most about it. Kind of a shrimp, kind of a crab. I tied this fly primarily for the negative low tides we get during the latter half of the year. It's weighted to keep it in the zone, but holds attraction with an estaz body and bright orange thread in addition to the subtle movement of the rabbit and the rubber legs.
What it imitates: Shrimp, crab
When to fish it: It has proven effective all year, but primarily from the late fall into early spring
Where to fish it: Drifting or wading shallow potholes, or casting for tailing redfish
How to fish it: Slowly skirting potholes on the bottom with a slow retrieve
Approximate time to complete this order: 7 days
