Description: The Lunker Getter was originally designed as a juvenile brown trout to swing in front of it's larger cannibal relatives in quick water. The lead eyes, wool head, and rabbit help to get the fly down quickly, and that combination of materials means that some part of the fly is always in motion in the water. The Lunker triggers both reaction strikes as well as hard chase strikes. It has also performed extremely well in pursuit of smallmouth in lakes.
What it imitates: Original coloration is juvenile brown trout, others are baitfish to match the region
When to fish it: In faster flowing river situations or open water
Where to fish it: Any river or lake will see this pattern as a keeper
How to fish it: On rivers, this fly is successful both on the swing, close to cover and rip stripped away from cover. Generally, a sink-tip or full-sink line is also helpful to get the fly in the strike zone and keep it there. On lakes, I have found that short, quick strips cause eratic fluttering that tends to work best.
Approximate turnaround to complete this order: Generally, 7 days
MINIMUM QUANTITY FOR THIS FLY IS 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 3 FLIES
