I enjoy fishing small rivers and streams. It can be so much fun! Your casts don't have to be long, the waters can range from small pocket water to beautiful shaded pools, and many times you will have the stream to yourself. In many of the small streams that I fish, most of the trout are not big - I think of them as little gems- but there is always the chance of hooking a real beauty. Special places with names like Sunkhaze Stream, Roach River, Exeter River, Duck Stream and the Battenkill each bring a smile to my face as I think about days exploring what's around the next bend. My Small Stream Selection consists of six (6) flies that are excellent choices for trout and landlocked salmon.
"Catching a 20" salmon in the Kennebec this Fall was a highlight of my sporting summer. Rick provided my friend and me with recommendations for the rivers and pools to fish and the flies to use. His Usual dry fly delivered great success throughout the weekend trip."
