The black ribbing is a perfect choice for Stoneflies and the copper ribbing is perfect for imitating Slate Drakes. If you need one to be more of an attractor pattern, try the olive or yellow body. What it imitates: Small stoneflies, large mayflies
When to fish it: This is a great year-round fly, but definitely has its advantages in the early season!
Where to fish it: Freestone streams, rivers and lakes
How to fish it: The Bomber can be fished in the riffles or you can be just as confident working it slowly across the bottom of a deep, quiet pool. When the black stoneflies are coming off, swing the fly down stream and towards shore, to imitate the naturals making their way to emerge. The Bomber is an excellent pocket water "prospecting" fly. Try using it as the bottom fly on a Czech rig and hold on! This fly is destined to replace all of the other "prospecting" nymphs in your box.
