Description: TP's Pheasant Tail Soft Hackel is my version of a tried-and-true pattern with two major differences: the material used for the abdomen and the hackle, which allows me to fish this fly just above the surface or in the film when treated with a little floatant.
TP's Pheasant Tail Soft Hackel is being sold as a set here; 2 of each size; #16, #18, #20.
What it imitates: Mayfly emerger, stillborn, or floating nymph. Midge emerger, stillborn, or pupa in smaller sizes.
When to fish it: I fish this throughout the year in streams and rivers that have good baetis or blue winged olive mayfly populations. Rigging a double nymph rig system is productive, but small nymphs can also be fished as a dropper off a dry fly.
Where to fish it: Any river, spring creek, or stream.
How to fish it: There is no wrong way to fish this fly. It can be fished as a wet fly, nymph, or dry.
Turnaround time to complete order: 7-10 days depending on quantity ordered
MINIMUM ORDER ON THIS FLY: 1 UNIT - 1 UNIT CONSISTS OF 2 FLIES PER SIZE - TOTAL 1/2 DOZEN FLIES
